SiS GO Electrolyte Blackcurrant

A sports drink powder providing 36 grams of carbohydrates and electrolytes per 40-gram serving in 500 ml of water. SiS GO Electrolyte Blackcurrant has a distinct blackcurrant flavor, clearly present without being sweet. The drink is dark purple and less obvious than Lemon or Orange, but it has a loyal user group that chooses it precisely for its assertive character. Caffeine-free. Suitable for vegans. Informed Sport certified. Contains aspartame.

Flavor fatigue is a real problem during long sessions

Anyone who cycles for four, five, or six hours and drinks the same flavor from every bottle will notice that the desire to drink decreases over time. This is not a lack of willpower but a physiological reaction to monotonous taste stimuli. A deliberately different flavor halfway through, or a bottle of Blackcurrant after hours of Lemon or Orange, breaks this pattern. Many athletes who take several flavors to competitions have Blackcurrant as an alternative in their race bag.

Identical formula, only the flavor differs

Lemon, Orange, and Blackcurrant have exactly the same nutritional values and the same list of ingredients. 36 grams of carbohydrates, 460 mg of sodium, the same electrolyte ratio. Only the flavor differs. The purple color is not a separate dye but a characteristic of the blackcurrant flavor. No additional allergen source compared to other flavors; the list of ingredients is identical.

When to choose Blackcurrant over other flavors

If you have been using Lemon or Orange for years and want to break away from that flavor. If you deliberately want to alternate flavors bottle by bottle during long races. Or simply if you prefer a dark berry flavor to citrus. There is no sports nutrition reason to choose one flavor over another: the choice is purely based on taste experience.

Why SiS GO Electrolyte Blackcurrant?

Assertive flavour for intentional variety during prolonged exertion

Blackcurrant is kept by its loyal users for the second half of a long ride or the final phase of a race. The intense berry flavour breaks the taste habit of lighter citrus flavours. Someone who intentionally alternates flavours bottle by bottle drinks more regularly than someone who keeps the same flavour throughout the session.

Same Electrolyte Composition as Lemon & Orange

460 mg sodium, 65 mg potassium, 25 mg calcium, and 8 mg magnesium per serving. Identical to other flavors. Choosing Blackcurrant has no influence on electrolyte absorption or carbohydrate intake. It is purely a difference in flavor.

Four electrolytes per serving: sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium

The electrolyte mix covers major mineral losses through sweat. Sodium is the most important, but potassium and magnesium also disappear during intense exertion and in hot weather. GO Electrolyte provides all four in a single bottle, without separate supplements.

Informed Sport Certified, no additional ingredients compared to other flavours

The ingredient list for Blackcurrant is identical to Lemon and Orange, except for the flavouring. No additional colouring, no berry juice, no separate allergen source. Tested by Informed Sport with every production batch. Contains aspartame, not suitable for people with phenylketonuria.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is Blackcurrant the best choice for?

For athletes who want to intentionally vary their flavor during long sessions, or who simply prefer a bold berry taste. There's no sports nutrition reason to choose one flavor over another. The formula is identical.

Does Blackcurrant have different ingredients from the other flavours?

No. The ingredient list is identical to Lemon and Orange: Carbohydrate blend (93%), Citric Acid, Electrolytes (2%), Flavour and Aspartame. The purple colour is a characteristic of the flavour itself, not a separate dye. No additional allergen sources.

Can I mix Blackcurrant with another flavor?

Yes, but do not use more than 40 grams of powder in total for 500 ml. You can combine two half-servings of different flavors for another combination. The nutritional values remain identical to a full serving.

Is the purple color of the drink normal?

Yes. The color comes from the blackcurrant flavor and is present in every serving. It temporarily stains bottles or the tube of a hydration pack purple, but this does not damage the material and washes out.

Does Blackcurrant have a stronger taste than the other variants?

Yes. Blackcurrant has the boldest flavour of the three. Orange is fresher but milder. Lemon is the most neutral. If you have never used GO Electrolyte, starting with Lemon or Orange is a more sensible way to discover the basic formula.

How many servings does the 1600-gram jar provide?

40 servings of 40 grams. At one serving per hour of training, the large jar covers forty sessions. The 500-gram jar provides 12 servings. Per serving, the large jar is more cost-effective.
