SiS BETA Recovery Vanilla
A recovery shake for endurance athletes who want to recover quickly after tough sessions of 90 minutes or more. SiS BETA Recovery Vanilla provides per 100 g dose of powder: 60 g of carbohydrates in a 1:1 ratio of maltodextrin and fructose, 30 g of whey protein with 3 g of leucine, and BC30, a probiotic strain for improved protein absorption. The flavor is a neutral vanilla, the shortest ingredient list of the three flavors. The vanilla variant has the simplest composition: no cocoa powder, no beetroot juice, pure flavoring. Combines well with milk or a high-protein addition if you want to vary the flavor.
Why two carbohydrate sources and not just one
The maltodextrin and fructose are absorbed in the intestine via different transport mechanisms. Maltodextrin passes through SGLT1 transporters and is largely stored directly by the muscles as muscle glycogen. Fructose passes through GLUT5 and is processed by the liver into liver glycogen. After intense exertion, both reserves are called upon. By replenishing them at the same time, you recover faster than with a single carbohydrate source. The 1:1 ratio of BETA Recovery allows both glycogen reserves to be replenished simultaneously.
30 g of whey protein and 3 g of leucine
After exercise, in addition to glycogen replenishment, muscle protein repair is also necessary. Whey protein provides all nine essential amino acids and is rapidly available. The 3 g of leucine per dose is specific: leucine signals the start of muscle protein synthesis via the mTOR signaling pathway. This is the dose at which research reports maximum muscle protein synthesis after endurance training. So you get not just protein, but protein in a quantity and composition that supports the recovery stimulus.
The BC30 probiotic: why it's included
BC30 stands for Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086. It is a specific probiotic strain that, in sporulated form, remains stable in powder and survives stomach acidity. This is not the case for all probiotics. Research on this strain shows a positive effect on digestion, immune response, and protein absorption. The latter point is relevant in a recovery drink: taking 30 g of whey protein is of little use if some of it is poorly absorbed due to intestinal upset after intense exertion.
The 30-minute post-workout window
Muscles and the liver respond most strongly to carbohydrates and protein within the first 30 minutes after exercise. Glycogen storage is faster then than later in the day. This is not a claim by SiS, but a physiological fact established for decades in sports nutrition research. Add 100 g of powder to 500 ml of cold water, mix well, and drink immediately. Four full doses correspond to the standard dosage for a 500-700 ml shaker.
BETA Recovery is for athletes who train intensely regularly and are mindful of their recovery. It is not an everyday supplement but a targeted drink for right after exercise. Combined with sufficient sleep and a varied diet, it supports preparation for the next session.
