SiS Beta Fuel Gel Nootropics Apple

A 60ml energy gel that combines 40 grams of carbohydrates with caffeine, L-Theanine, L-Taurine, and Cognizin® Citicoline. SiS Beta Fuel Gel Nootropics Apple is based on the same carbohydrate foundation as the classic Beta Fuel gel, with the addition of four ingredients focused on the mental aspect of endurance sports. The flavor is a light, fresh, and recognizable apple taste. Maximum 1 per day due to the high caffeine content of 200 mg. Gluten-free, suitable for vegans, Informed Sport certified.

Four active ingredients in addition to the gel

The carbohydrate base is identical to the classic Beta Fuel gel: 40 grams in a 1:0.8 maltodextrin to fructose ratio. Four additional ingredients are added to this. Caffeine (200 mg) contributes to alertness and endurance. L-Theanine (200 mg) is an amino acid from green tea which, when combined with caffeine, reduces caffeine-related jitters while maintaining a sense of alertness. L-Taurine (1 g) is an amino acid active in muscle tissue and the nervous system. Cognizin® Citicoline (250 mg) is a patented form of citicoline, a choline compound involved in information processing in the brain.

Caffeine and L-Theanine together

200 mg of caffeine is a significant dose. Combined with L-Theanine, it behaves differently than caffeine alone. Theanine enhances the sense of alertness provided by caffeine but reduces the nervousness and jittery feeling that can occur with higher caffeine doses. This combination has been studied in several randomized trials. The result: more focus, less feeling of nervousness. This is particularly useful in the final phase of a competition or a long ride when you need to stay sharp while remaining calm.

Maximum 1 per day, to be combined with classic Beta Fuel gels

The limit of 1 gel per day is only related to the caffeine content. 200 mg per gel already represents half of the recommended daily limit of 400 mg for adults, regardless of other caffeine sources. If you want more than 40 grams of carbohydrates per hour, combine this gel with classic Beta Fuel gels or the Beta Fuel 80 sachet. These do not contain caffeine and can be combined freely. Use the nootropics gel when you most need the mental boost, not simply as the first gel of the day.

This is not a gel for every ride. This is the gel for the moment that matters: the last climb, the last 30 kilometers, the point in an ultra race where concentration works harder than the legs. Always test it first in training, never for the first time on race day.

Why SiS Beta Fuel Gel Nootropics Apple?

40 grams of carbohydrates and 200 mg of caffeine in one gel

The base is identical to the standard Beta Fuel gel: 40 grams of carbohydrates in a 1:0.8 maltodextrin to fructose ratio. Added to this are 200 mg of caffeine, 250 mg of Cognizin® Citicoline, 200 mg of L-Theanine and 1 g of L-Taurine. No need to take a separate caffeine gel or stack caffeine tablets. One gel, all components combined. Maximum 1 per day due to caffeine content.

L-Theanine Reduces Caffeine-Induced Jitters

200 mg of caffeine is a significant dose, comparable to two espressos. In individuals sensitive to caffeine, this can sometimes cause a feeling of agitation or nervousness. L-Theanine is an amino acid naturally found in green tea which, when combined with caffeine, enhances alertness while reducing jitters. The combination of the two has been studied in several trials and is also widely used outside of sports in pre-workout formulas and nootropic supplements.

Cognizin® is a branded form of citicoline

Citicoline is a compound that is converted in the body into choline, a building block of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Cognizin® is the patented and standardized version of citicoline used in several clinical studies. The dose in this product is 250 mg. Citicoline has been used for a long time in pharmacy and stands out from the marketing terms that sometimes surround it.

Informed Sport Certified, maximum 1 per day

Each production batch is tested by Informed Sport for WADA-listed banned substances. Gluten-free, lactose-free, wheat-free, and nut-free. Suitable for vegans. The 1-gel-per-day limit is due to the caffeine content, not other ingredients.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference to the regular Beta Fuel Gel?

The regular Beta Fuel gel provides 40 grams of carbohydrates in a 1:0.8 ratio and contains a small amount of sodium. The nootropics variant has exactly the same carbohydrate base but contains four additional ingredients: 200 mg caffeine, 250 mg Cognizin® Citicoline, 200 mg L-Theanine and 1 g L-Taurine. The biggest practical difference is the limit of 1 gel per day. The regular variant does not have this limit, so you can combine it freely throughout the ride or competition.

When is the best time to take this gel?

Most users take it when concentration is most needed: at the start of a long climb, in the final phase of a competition, or after two hours of cycling when mental fatigue begins to set in. This is when caffeine has the most effect. Do not take it too late in the day if you have sleep problems with caffeine. The gel works best if you have tested it in advance in training, and not for the first time on race day.

Why a maximum of 1 per day?

Due to the 200 mg of caffeine per gel. The EFSA states that a daily caffeine intake of 400 mg is safe for most adults. With one gel, you are at 200 mg, and there are probably other sources of caffeine in your day. Two gels would represent 400 mg, excluding coffee, tea, or other sources. The nootropics themselves (citicoline, theanine, taurine) have no reason to impose a daily limit at this dosage level.

What does L-Taurine do in this product?

L-Taurine is an amino acid found in various places in the body, including muscle tissue and the central nervous system. In sports nutrition, it is often used in combination with caffeine. A study cited by SiS (1g of taurine before exercise) showed a 1.7% improvement in a 3km run. The exact mechanism of taurine's effect on performance levels is still under ongoing research. The dose in this product is 1 gram, the amount used in most studies.

What is citicoline and why is it in an energy gel?

Citicoline is a compound that serves in the body as a precursor to choline, a building block of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Acetylcholine plays a role in attention, information processing speed, and muscle coordination. Cognizin® is the patented and clinically studied form of citicoline. In endurance sports, cognitive fatigue in the final phase is a real phenomenon: decisions become slower, concentration decreases. Citicoline addresses this aspect, while carbohydrates do the physical work.

Can I also use this gel outside of a competition context?

Yes, but the dosage is designed for exercise. Using 200 mg of caffeine and 250 mg of citicoline at rest is not harmful but is also not the product's purpose. The gel contains 40 grams of carbohydrates that you don't need at rest. If you only want the cognitive boost, separate caffeine or citicoline products are more practical and less expensive. This product is specifically intended for prolonged endurance exercise where you want to combine energy with mental acuity.
