SiS Beta Fuel Gel Raspberry and Lemon with Electrolytes

An energy gel that combines 40 grams of carbohydrates with 200 mg of sodium per 60 ml gel. SiS Beta Fuel Gel Raspberry and Lemon with Electrolytes uses the same 1:0.8 maltodextrin to fructose ratio as the rest of the Beta Fuel range, but contains significantly more sodium than the standard Beta Fuel gel. Intended for prolonged effort in hot weather or with high sweat rates, when you want to replenish energy and electrolytes at the same time without managing multiple products. Fresh raspberry and lemon flavor. Gluten-free, suitable for vegans, Informed Sport certified.

200 mg of sodium per gel, intentionally added

The standard Beta Fuel gel contains a small amount of sodium as a byproduct of sodium citrate present in acidity regulation. This variant contains 200 mg of sodium per gel via sodium chloride as a separate ingredient. This is comparable to the sodium content of half an HYDRO tablet. With two gels per hour, you get 400 mg of sodium in addition to 80 grams of carbohydrates. For moderate sweat rates, this is a useful intake. In hot weather or intense effort with sweat rates of 1000 mg or more per hour, additional intake via drinking water remains advisable.

Energy and electrolytes in one format

Anyone who wants to maintain both carbohydrates and sodium during prolonged effort normally carries an energy gel in one pocket and an HYDRO tablet or sachet in the other. Or an electrolyte bottle that is sometimes lost or forgotten. This gel combines both components in a single sachet. This reduces the risk of forgetting and makes the nutritional strategy a little easier to manage in the final phase of a long ride or competition, when concentration decreases.

Same carbohydrate base as the Beta Fuel range

40 grams of carbohydrates per 60 ml gel in a 1:0.8 maltodextrin to fructose ratio. Maltodextrin goes directly to the muscles via the SGLT1 transporter, fructose passes through the liver and GLUT5. By simultaneously using both transport pathways, the carbohydrate oxidation efficiency increases from 62% with a 2:1 ratio to 74%, as demonstrated in comparative studies. No water needed, ready to consume directly.

Caffeine-free, unlimited combination

The gel contains neither caffeine nor nootropics. There is no daily limit. You can combine it freely with classic Beta Fuel gels, the Beta Fuel 80 sachet, or the Beta Fuel Nootropics gel without worrying about the total caffeine intake. In a strategy where you take the nootropics gel at a specific point in the race, you supplement the remaining hours with this electrolyte gel.

The product is relatively new to the Beta Fuel range and currently available in only one flavor: raspberry and lemon. The flavor has been intentionally kept fresh and light, pleasant to consume when fatigued in the final stage of a competition.

Why SiS Beta Fuel Gel Raspberry and Lemon with electrolytes?

200mg sodium per gel, not just carbohydrates

The standard Beta Fuel gel contains a small amount of sodium as a by-product of the sodium citrate. This variant contains 200mg of sodium per gel, voluntarily added via sodium chloride. This is comparable to half an HYDRO tablet in sodium content per gel. For every two gels per hour, you get 400mg of sodium in addition to 80 grams of carbohydrates, which makes a real difference in hot weather or in cases of high sweat rates compared to the classic gel.

40 grams of carbohydrates in a 1:0.8 ratio, no water needed

The carbohydrate base is identical to the classic Beta Fuel gel: 40 grams per 60ml gel in a 1:0.8 maltodextrin to fructose ratio. The gel is ready to use, no need to dissolve it in water or use a bottle. Two gels per hour provide 80 grams of carbohydrates and 400 mg of sodium in a single format.

Combined energy and electrolytes, less to manage

Anyone who wants to replenish both carbohydrates and electrolytes during prolonged exertion normally needs several products: an energy gel plus an HYDRO tablet or an electrolyte sachet. This gel combines the two. It's one less thing to manage in your bib short pocket or running belt, and one less decision to make during exertion, when your concentration is decreasing anyway.

Informed Sport Certified, Gluten Free

Every production batch is tested for WADA-prohibited substances by Informed Sport. Free from gluten, lactose, wheat, and nuts. Suitable for vegans. Caffeine-free, nootropics-free: the gel can be combined without limit throughout your ride or event.

Unfortunately, due to strict European legislation, we can currently only provide limited information on the effects of products. Only authorized claims listed in the EU database may be mentioned. This is why we generally cannot share the results of scientific studies. For example, we cannot say anything about the effect of caffeine, even though the effect of coffee is well-known. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference with the classic Beta Fuel Gel?

The classic Beta Fuel Gel contains a small amount of sodium for acidity regulation (sodium citrate and sodium chloride). The electrolyte variant contains significantly more sodium: 200 mg per gel, which is 0.5 g of salt per gel. This is intentionally added for athletes who, during efforts lasting more than two hours, also want to compensate for their sodium loss via their gel rather than through a separate hydration source.

When to choose this gel over the classic Beta Fuel gel?

In hot weather when you sweat a lot, during an effort lasting more than two hours where you have less easy access to a bottle, or if you prefer a simpler approach with fewer products at once. In cool weather or for shorter sessions, the additional sodium is less relevant and the classic Beta Fuel gel is an equally valid choice.

Is 200 mg of sodium per gel enough for hydration?

It depends on your sweat rate and the conditions. During moderate exercise, you lose 200-500 mg of sodium per hour. During intense exercise or in hot weather, this can increase to 1000 mg or more. Two gels per hour provide 400 mg of sodium, which is a useful intake for average sweating but not a complete replacement. In cases of very high sweat rates, additional sodium intake via drinking water with an HYDRO tablet or an HYDRO+ sachet is advisable.

Is there a maximum number of gels per day?

No, this gel contains neither caffeine nor other ingredients with a daily limit. You can combine the gel freely with other Beta Fuel products that do not contain nootropics. The only practical limit is your energy requirements: 1 to 2 gels per hour is the recommendation for this product during prolonged exertion or in hot weather.

Can I combine this gel with HYDRO tablets or HYDRO+ sachets?

Yes, you can. The gel provides 200 mg of sodium per unit, and a HYDRO tablet provides 345 mg of sodium per tablet dissolved in 500 ml of water. They complement each other and do not interfere. If you drink a bottle with a HYDRO tablet and use this gel during exercise, the sodium intakes add up. This can be useful in case of heavy sweating in hot weather.

Why is there only one flavour?

The product is relatively new to the Beta Fuel range. Raspberry and Lemon is the only flavour available at the moment. The fresh and slightly citrusy flavour was deliberately chosen as a fresher alternative to the sweeter, fruitier flavours of other gels, which is more pleasant to consume hour after hour during prolonged exercise.
